INCOME INEQUALITY AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS FROM MICS SURVEY DATA

The aim of this paper is to estimate domestic violence in Punjab (Pakistan) and empirically investigate the impact income inequality on by using Multiple Indicators Cluster Survey (MICS) microdata. Over world, about one three (35%) women experience violence. present study uses as dependent variables Gini coefficient independent variable other control at district level (Pakistan). Results show that has positive significant relationship with outcome shows higher unequal distribution income, In study, northern eastern districts are more developed have equal while southern western resources. government should prioritize Southern districts, like Rajanpur, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Bhakkar Khushab, Muzaffargarh Layyah, for focused intervention poverty eradication opportunities everyone.
